IMO UNIVERSITY ABANDONS EXAMS, EMBARKS ON INDEFINITE STRIKE
lecturers of Imo State university, Owerri, IMSU, have abandoned the school's first semester examinations, embarking on an indefinite strike in order to press home their demands.
One of the striking lecturers who confided with Okeomanews said that the industrial action was as a result of accumulated depths, non payment of salaries and allowances.
He maintained that no amount of pressure would make them call off the industrial action until their demands are met.
Okeomanews investigation revealed that the citadel of learning was yet to round off it first semester academic programs before the enraged lecturers downed their tools. We further learnt that strike action which has abruptly stopped the ongoing first semester examinations would dangerously affect the Nigeria Universities Commission, NUC, academic calendar for the Institute if nothing urgently is not done to avert it. It was discovered that the lecturers have not received any salary since this year, a development that has made life very excruciating and devastating for them.

In addition to Mr Ekeoma's report, any State governor who refuses to pay his or her staff members monthly salary is a pure CRIMINAL and that is what I see Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to be!

Owelle Rochas Okorocha has continuously given a deaf ear to the people's humble pleas to pay workers salaries. He has rather been investing the Imolites funds into his own private business, presenting all sorts of non-challant achievements to cover up his tricks while people shrinks in hunger.

How can people survive or even be happy when all they do is to borrow money to feed their families, pay children's school fees, fuel their cars/pay transport to work, pay every other bills in the house plus clothing expenses, hoping to get paid at the end of the month and all they get is bad news-"Okorocha did not release salary".

Rochas Okorocha should please tell the world what he's learnt from his visits to the UK and USA? Have you in any of your malicious visits with your cohorts, noticed the leaders of the above countries not been able to pay their workers salaries. If not, you are nothing but 'Itiboribo Criminal' in a foreign land! How could you keep owing your staff and expect them to be happy and when they march out on a peaceful protest, you order your soldiers to shoot them to death, forgetting that even your last generation on earth would pay fully for your evil.

Let's assume you're refusing to pay them because they refused to vote for you, that would definitely mean you rigged yourself into power.... otherwise, why withholding their salaries for a very long time?!

All these non payment of salaries and strikes, are to the detriment of innocent students as they would be asked to buy non-existing handouts, in order for teachers to see money and sort their own personal expenditures thereby exposing the students to all kinds of immoral behaviours....rubbing or stealing will become the other of the day just to meet up with the Lecturer's demand and pass the exam...caused by who?....Mr Rochas Okorocha!

Remember a state without education is like a s State without light! Putting innocent people in darkness dose not portray a good image for any leader and with this alone, Okorocha's major aim of becoming the Nigerian President is less likely to be achieved!
